Within the 150 year old historic Upsal Train Station is The POD Cafe. Here we offer generous amounts of good coffee, great food, fresh homemade pastries, comfortable surroundings, and service of the highest standard. With our catering abilities in-house as well as all over Philadelphia, at the POD we also reguarly transform the entire cafe into a haven for hosting private events of every kind.
As we prepare to celebrate our 11th anniversary, we shall reminise about the good times as we look toward a prosperous future. We are ever greatful for the friends who have passed through our doors and the support we've recieved while becoming a "Green Business" - composting our waste and recycling.

After 10 years, were happy to announce that the Soul of Mt. Airy/Germantown still resides in the 150 year old Upsal Train Station! It is our committment to offer you the best food and service possible. Here at The POD Cafe, we take pride in providing every customer with fresh, local and exciting dishes. We have been consistently improving our business and increasing our commitment toward our local Philadelphia community. We also cater all over the city and conveniently host private events of all kinds for our neighboring citizens.
From our organic lollipops to our rockin vegetarian dishes we support local farming, fair trade production, and have educated ourselves about ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Ultimately, we are learning, evolving and improving everyday! Currently we order produce publicly and purchase privately from Lancaster Farm Fresh, Grumblethorpe Historical Gardens, Cherry Hill Orchards, and Fair Food Philly. As hard as it may be to choose a favorite locally supplied product, we all agree that we enjoy Pinklady apples which we use to bake our homemade apple turnovers the most. It is important for us to provide these local products because we believe that your food source should never be a mystery. We like to know if anything is IPM, that it has no antibiotics, and undergoes the lesser amount of tampering when coming from your own backyard.
As always, we will be serving Breakfast & Lunch all day, every day!

We are currently recycling our used cooking oil into biodeisel fuel with Eden Green Energy, comoposting our organic waste, recycling, and starting a micro farm right in our backyard so that our Vegetarian dishes may be self sustaining!
